Pedestrian
You might have been crossing the road, possibly
at traffic lights or a pedestrian crossing and been knocked
down by a hit and run driver, or perhaps you were simply
walking along the pavement when a hit and run driver mounted
the kerb and knocked you over.
Whatever the circumstances if you have been involved in
an accident with someone who didn't stop after the accident
and couldn't be traced then you might be able to claim
compensation for the injuries you have suffered.
Driver
It might at first seem like an ordinary road traffic accident,
after all hundreds of road traffic accidents happen every
day to people just like you.
But then when the driver who caused the accident doesn't
stop and they don't report the accident to the police
you have been the victim of an accident involving a hit
and run motorist. Sadly more and more accidents like this
happen every day. In this situation you might be able
to claim compensation for the injuries you suffered and
your financial losses.
Passenger
You are travelling in a car, van, bus or any sort of vehicle
really, as a passenger and your driver is involved in
an accident but the driver who caused the accident doesn't
stop and doesn't report the accident to the police. You
have been the victim of a hit and run motorist and you
might be able to claim compensation for the injuries and
losses you have suffered.
Cyclist
This is one of the most common types of accident involving
a hit and run driver. So often the driver either overtakes
too close or just doesn't see the cyclist and the cyclist
is knocked off and very often suffers serious injury.
Whenever a car and a bike collide the cyclist will always
come off worse.
Wearing a protective helmet and clothing will help lessen
the extent of the injuries you sustain in many types of
accident. In so many cases it is just not possible to
take down the registration number of the vehicle that
caused the accident and sadly in so many cases the driver
leaves the scene without stopping and without reporting
it to the police. If you have been the victim of a hit
and run accident when cycling we can help you.
Motorcyclist
This is another one of the most common types
of accident involving a hit and run driver. So often the
driver either overtakes too close, pulls out at a junction
or just doesn't see the motorcyclist and the motorcyclist
is knocked off and very often suffers serious injury.

Passenger on public transport
Whether travelling on a bus, tram, train or
other such public transport you might suffer an injury
because of a hit and run driver. On the bus the driver
might be forced to brake hard to avoid a collision or
the hit and run motorist might actually hit the bus and
then drive off without stopping.
On the train you might be injured when the driver has
to take evasive action suddenly when a car driver jumps
the level crossing and then drives off without stopping.
If you sustain an injury because of a hit and run driver
we can help you. |
