It is always a good idea to take photos at the scene of an accident if at all possible.

You could use your mobile phone camera to take pictures of the damage to the vehicles but always make sure you are safe and out of harms way before considering taking any pictures.

You should report any accident involving a hit and run motorist to the police as soon after the accident as possible.

If there are any witnesses to the accident you should take their details also and pass them on to the police.

Write down as much information as you can about the hit and run motorist or their vehicle as it might be useful later on for the police.

The MIB might make an award for psychological harm alone. You do not have to have suffered physical harm as well.

So, if you have suffered a significant psychological condition as a result of an accident with a hit and run motorist you may be entitled to compensation.

It might be possible to recover the cost of medical treatment on a private basis from the MIB.

You therefore may not have to wait for treatment on the NHS when really what is important is that you receive early rehabilitation to help you on the road to recovery.
