We can help you if you have been the victim of a hit
and run accident by an untraced or uninsured motorist
and have suffered personal injuries as a result.
HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT.co.uk is an online service run
by TMS Legal Solutions Limited a specialist company
regulated by the Ministry of Justice.
We are a modern, friendly, helpful organisation. Our
headquarters are in Southampton, but we provide a national
service and represent victims of hit and run accidents
all over the UK.
We will help you pursue a claim against the Motor Insurers
Bureau (MIB) who is responsible for paying compensation
to the victims of such accidents.
Hit and run accidents can take many forms. Generally
you are likely to fall into one of the following groups:
1. Car Driver - your
vehicle has been hit by an untraced or uninsured motorist.
2. Car Passenger
- you were a passenger in a vehicle hit by an untraced
or uninsured motorist.
3. Cyclist - you
were knocked off your bicycle as a result of being hit
by an untraced or uninsured motorist.
4. Pedestrian - you
were hit whilst walking by an untraced or uninsured
motorist.
5. Motor Cyclist
- your motor bike has been hit by an untraced or uninsured
motorist.
6. Pillion Passenger
- you were a passenger on a motor bike hit by an untraced
or uninsured motorist.
7. You were the driver
or passenger in a public/private transport vehicle (e.g.
taxi, bus, tram, train) hit by an untraced or uninsured
motorist.
The actual cause of the damage can be direct or indirect.
In a straightforward case the accident will have been
caused by the other motorist colliding with you or the
vehicle you were travelling in.
In other cases the cause may be more indirect - for
example, diesel or oil spilt on the road or an insecure
load causing you to have an accident and you suffer
injury loss and damage.
Whatever your circumstances you can only claim where
it can be established that the accident was the fault
of the untraced or uninsured motorist. However you can
still claim even though you may have been partly to
blame.
In these circumstances you can claim for the appropriate
percentage of your losses. For example, if the accident
was deemed to be 50% your fault and 50% the fault of
the untraced or uninsured motorist you could only claim
for 50% of your losses.
We can deal with your claim even where the accident
was caused in the UK by a foreign motorist who is either
uninsured or untraced. We can even help you where the
accident occurred in another European country!
Where the accident and your injury have been caused
by a deliberate and intentional act it is unlikely to
be dealt with by the MIB.
Such cases might be suitable for a claim under a government
scheme operated by the Criminal Injury Compensation
Authority (CICA).
We can still help you pursue a claim under the CICA
scheme.
